With more than 35 years experience as a leading practitioner of gastroenterology and Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCLA, Dr. Schapiro is well known for his involvement with national and international gastrointestinal societies. He served, as a member of the FDA Gastroenterology Advisory Board, is a past president of both the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), and the World Congress of Gastroenterology. He has served as a member of many medical advisory boards and has participated actively in medical education at the national and international level.
